New PhD scholarship at EnTechnon

Thanks to a generous grant from Robert Gerlach, doctoral researchers with a research focus in the Division of Creativity can be supported at EnTechnon for the first time this year. The Robert Gerlach Creativity Scholarship specifically strengthens innovative research approaches at the interface of entrepreneurship, technology and creativity.
On May 8, 2026, a reception was held at KIT's Institute for Entrepreneurship, Technology Management and Innovation (EnTechnon) in honor of Robert Gerlach. The reception brought together sponsors, researchers and employees to honor this commitment and to discuss the future development of the program.
KIT would like to express its sincere thanks for this valuable support!
Sponsor Robert Gerlach - creativity researcher, developer of Dual Thinking
"Why am I creative in one company and not in another?" Robert Gerlach has been fascinated by this question ever since he discovered his creative talent at an advertising agency in New York. After working as an art director in Paris, Hamburg and Barcelona and winning several international awards, he founded the creativity consultancy IQudo in Stuttgart in 2006. He has been supervising research work at EnTechnon since 2012. He condensed his practical and theoretical findings in his creativity guide Innovator's High.
His best insight: a new idea not only solves a problem or turns the world upside down; the "aha" moment also releases a cocktail of happiness hormones. Concluding an intensive idea workout with an ingenious solution leads to a natural high. Creativity is a natural source of self-efficacy - without any side effects.
