The scope of the thesis differs, depending on the degree.

Lots of technologies are developed in research institutions, but their potential remain unexploited, as no suitable application for the technology is identified, which is justified by several reasons. To foster the exploitation this thesis investigated the process of researchers and the challenges they perceive. 

Further, it shall be analyzed, which challenges they are facing nowadays, how they solve it (if they do), and how a method, process or tool for solving these challenges could look like. 

In this regard the thesis includes:

- a SLR 

- Expert interviews with researcher, that already founded a company (spin-off) or are interested in doing so.
