Content

As a mandatory part of the Entrepreneurship module, this lecture introduces the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship. It presents key concepts and empirical facts related to the design and implementation of newly founded ventures.

The lecture focuses on methods for generating innovative business ideas, translating patents into business concepts, and the fundamentals of business modeling and planning.

Topics include approaches such as Lean Startup and Effectuation, as well as concepts for financing young companies.

A key feature of the lecture is the KIT Entrepreneurship Talk, where experienced founders and entrepreneurs share their insights on business creation. The schedule and speakers will be announced on the EnTechnon website in due time.

 

Learning Objectives

Students will be introduced to the topic of entrepreneurship. After completing the course, they will have an overview of the different areas of entrepreneurship and will be able to understand and apply key concepts.

 

Workload

Total workload for 3 ECTS credits: approx. 90 hours

Attendance: 30 hours

Preparation and follow-up work: 45 hours

Exam and exam preparation: 15 hours

Examination

The assessment consists of a written exam (60 minutes) (§4(2), 1 SPO). The final grade is based on the exam result.

By successfully participating in a case study as part of the entrepreneurship lecture, students can earn a grade bonus. If the exam grade is between 4.0 and 1.3, the bonus improves the grade by up to 0.3 or 0.4.

The bonus is only applied if the exam is passed with at least 4.0. Further details will be provided during the lecture. Participation in the case study is voluntary.
