In this seminar, important factors for an entrepreneurial activity are explained and you are guided through a structured process from the initial business idea to the pitch of your final business model. This involves developing a business idea in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Working in small teams, you will create, develop, validate and present your business model. It simulates the basics of a start-up process up to the investor pitch.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to

  • Characterize the specifications of technology push and market pull
  • describe why personal and team core values are important for team building and how they can influence start-up projects
  • reflect on and name the top 3 personal and team core values
  • reflect on and name the top 3 personal and team core competencies
  • develop a sound value proposition for a target customer
  • recognizing business opportunities
  • develop business ideas
  • present the business ideas to potential investors

Examination:

Presentation + active participation + written elaboration.
