The seminar teaches the basics of planning and modeling business ideas. Based on a structured process, you will be guided through the development of your own business ideas, the derivation and testing of initial business model hypotheses through to the final creation of a business plan. In small teams, you will create, develop, validate and present your business model. The basic steps of a start-up process are simulated.

Learning objectives

On completion of this seminar, students will have become familiar with the entire process of business model development and will have tried it out in practice. In particular, this means that students will know

  • how business ideas arise and how they can be developed
  • what the customer benefit of a business idea is based on
  • how a business model hypothesis can be set up and tested
  • which successful business model patterns exist and how these can be used for their own business idea
  • how to pitch business ideas and convince potential investors

Registration is via the Wiwi portal.

Examination:

Presentation + active participation + written elaboration.
