Towards Archetypes of Digital Healthcare Startups and their Business Models

The healthcare industry is complex and heavily regulated. However, this should not discourage aspiring entrepreneurs from pursuing their goals and creating innovative products that can improve patient outcomes or prevent diseases. In fact, it is crucial for digital healthcare entrepreneurs to effectively plan their strategies in order to succeed in this industry.

The goal of this thesis project is to identify and analyze different types of digital medical device startups using quantitative analysis. The methodology for this research will be an empirical approach probably in form of a questionnaire aimed at founders in digital health. By collecting data on the different startups, we will investigate patterns that occur within this field.

Possible Research Questions (can be adapted to personal interest):

Some of the questions we will explore include: What archetypes of digital health startups exist? Which relationships and clusters can be identified by analyzing the derived results?
