Contents

The lecture is a compulsory part of the module "Entrepreneurship" and introduces the basic concepts of entrepreneurship. Important concepts and empirical facts relating to the conception and implementation of newly founded companies are presented.The focus here is on introducing methods for generating innovative business ideas, translating patents into business concepts and the general principles of business modeling and business planning. In particular, approaches such as lean startup and effectuation as well as concepts for financing young companies are covered.Part of the lecture is a "KIT Entrepreneurship Talk", in which experienced founders and entrepreneurs report on their experiences in the practice of founding a company.Dates and speakers will be announced in good time via the EnTechnon homepage.

Learning objectives:

Students are introduced to the topic of entrepreneurship. After successfully attending the course, they should have an overview of the sub-areas of entrepreneurship and be able to understand basic concepts of entrepreneurship and apply key concepts.Workload:Total workload for 3 credit points: approx. 90 hoursAttendance time: 30 hoursPreparation and follow-up of the course: 45.0 hoursExam and exam preparation: 15.0 hoursExamination:Success is assessed in the form of a written examination (60 min.) (in accordance with §4(2), 1 SPO). The grade is the grade of the written examination.Successful participation in a case study as part of the Entrepreneurship lecture can result in a grade bonus. If the grade of the written exam is between 4.0 and 1.3, the bonus improves the grade by up to 0.3 or 0.4. The bonus only applies if you have passed the exam with at least 4.0. More details will be announced in the lecture. Participation in the case study is voluntary.
