Markus Lau is a PhD Candidate and Research Associate at the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Technology-Management and Innovation (EnTechnon) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His research addresses challenges and opportunities for business model design and innovation in value networks. He focuses on the development of supporting tools for successful business model design in transforming markets. A special industry focus is given on the energy sector in Germany.
Markus trains executives, PhD’s and students in different areas such as Technology Entrepreneurship, Business Model Design, Design Thinking and Value Driven Innovation. He is Lead Coach at several Startup Accelerator Programs such as the Startup Catalyst (upCAT), AXEL (The Energy Accelerator) and GROW. Markus is teaching (agile) Project Management at the Hector Business School Executives Program since 2016 (Executive Master and MBA Fundamentals).
He holds a Master´s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (M.Sc.) from the KIT with a focus on Renewable Energies, Energy Economy and Innovation Management.
